Tripple glazing and sound insulation

When we are really enjoying one of our favourite tracks, often the first thing we do, is dial up the volume, often we want to listen to that track as loud as we can, and this may make us feel good, but the neighbours- well, they may not feel so good about it, they may not like AC/DC as much as you, they may get annoyed with your love of rock music.

So, what’s the solution?

The solution is to have quality sound proofing installed in the walls, ceiling and floor- will this totally stop any sound from escaping from your music room? No, is the answer, yet what sound proofing does is lessen the sound escaping, it lessens the amount of noise, and therefore disturbance to your neighbours.

We then would recommend triple glazing is installed, that the frames are made from wood, or UPVC to further help reduce the noise. Then we would recommend on top of sound proofing that extra thick, wall insulation is added, and we would recommend panel insulation is used, but the really thick pieces of panel insulation.

Then we would recommend that you think about getting a green roof added.

What’s a green roof?

A green roof is simply a roof where you can grow plants on the roof, and why would we recommend this for your music room?

Well that’s because the layer of soil, can act to insulate the room, in terms of helping the room to retain heat in winter, but also, what it will do is help to reduce the amount of noise escaping as well. The soil therefore acts like a form of sound proofing, but you also have the added benefit that you can grow flowers on the roof as well.

If you’re playing the electric guitar, or have dj equipment, or simply your playing electric drums, your going to need a lot of power sockets, as you might have a lot of musical instruments that need to be plugged in.
