Quite often a small garden room, that’s used as a place of work, is sometimes described as a “garden office pod”. Often that’s because they are like a pod, often just large enough for a desk, some shelves, and a large enough window to let some natural light flood in.

So, how much do garden offices cost?

Well, with prices starting from around 18k, they can be built at this great price, yet, they offer such fantastic value for money, simply due, to how much they can be used. A self employed person could have their own dedicated place to work, or if you’re an employee for a company, you too have a quite place, where you can take work calls, Zoom meetings, and work completed, in a quiet room.

Great alterative from working in a spare bedroom

A garden office is simply brilliant alternative to using say a spare bedroom in your house, as when your working in a garden office, because you simply get less distractions. It’s separate from the main house, so it’s often quieter.

What exactly is a garden office pod?

Well, on most garden room websites, you will often see garden buildings described as “garden offices” or “summerhouses. However a term that is now cropping up more so, is “garden office pod”, and these are smaller than a garden room, cost less, can be built by us much quicker, and often used as a place of work by our customers. Plus, a garden office pod,  are often very small and sometimes built in a narrow spaces within a garden.

Sometimes these buildings could be so small that you don’t really see them from the main house as they might be tucked to the side of a garden shed for example.

Therefore often just used as a place, where you can fit a small desk, so that you can work during the day.

Detached from your house

For a lot of people that work from home, they sometimes like to keep their work, separate from their house. This means for example they might not want to work from the kitchen table, they may want a garden office built.

You don’t have to have a large garden

When you look on social media accounts, let’s say on Facebook, or Twitter, or Instragram, when garden room companies are being built here in the U.K, often the garden buildings, being built are very large, they may span the entire width of a garden. Not just for use in summer

Often garden rooms are referred to as “summerhouses”, which can give the impression that they are only used in summer time, as a place to go and perhaps enjoy a nice glass of wine.

And it’s true some summerhouses, built by some companies are only meant to be used during the summer, because they might not have any insulation in the walls. So, this means, that because there’s no say fibreglass, or panel insulation, the room might not even be completely plaster boarded, come winter, they can simply be too cold.
